Movie Geo collects about as little as a game can. There are no accounts, no passwords, no advertising, and no trackers. This page explains exactly what is stored, where, and why.
Movie Geo is operated by Noah Manning, a sole proprietor in Virginia Beach, Virginia, United States. For the purposes of data protection law, we are the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us at noahjasonmanning@gmail.com.
Nothing that identifies you. You do not create an account and we do not ask for your name or email. Your scores, streaks, and the list of questions you have already seen are stored in your own browser and are not sent to us.
Our host, Vercel, automatically records standard server logs when your browser requests the page, including IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser and device type, referring page, and timestamps. We use these only to keep the site running and secure.
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our contract with you for the first three, and on our legitimate interest in operating a secure service for the fourth.

We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, or where necessary to protect our rights, safety, or property, or those of our users. If the Service is ever sold or merged, information may transfer with it, and this policy will continue to apply until it is replaced.
Movie Geo uses your browser's local storage rather than tracking cookies. It holds your scores, your best streak, which questions you have seen, and, if you subscribe, a signed access token that proves your subscription. None of it is used to track you across other websites.
You can erase all of it at any time by clearing site data for movie-geo.com in your browser settings. Doing so will reset your progress and sign you out of Plus.
The site is served only over HTTPS. Access tokens are cryptographically signed, so they cannot be forged or altered. Payment card data never touches our servers. Secret keys are held as encrypted environment variables and are never included in anything sent to your browser.
No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but the amount of personal data we hold is deliberately small so that there is little to lose.
Movie Geo is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, email us and we will delete it. Only an adult may purchase a subscription.

Email noahjasonmanning@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. Because we hold so little, the usual answer to "what do you have on me" is your email address, a Stripe customer id, and a list of question numbers.
If you live in California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have the rights listed in section 10, plus the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising.
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we do not process it for targeted advertising or profiling. There is nothing to opt out of, but you are welcome to confirm that with us.
You may use an authorised agent to make a request. We may need to verify your identity, usually by asking you to email from the address used at checkout.
You have the rights in section 10 plus the right to data portability, the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority. Our servers and our processors are located in the United States, so using the Service involves transferring your data there. Where required, our processors rely on Standard Contractual Clauses for those transfers.
If we change this policy we will update the effective date above and, for material changes, give notice in the app. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
